LANCASTER -- The Lancaster Historical Commission will present an informational hearing regarding the proposed adaptive re-use plan for the Prescott Building on the Lancaster Town Green. Two public hearings will take place in the Lancaster Community Center on the Town Green, 49 Harvard Road on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. An Open House at the Prescott Building will take place Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to visit.
Lancaster Town Administrator Orlando Pacheco will present facts and figures relating to the proposed project which will be on the warrant at the special Town Meeting coming up on October 1, 2012. Following his remarks, the Lancaster Historical Commission will present a PowerPoint® slide show outlining the building plans. Following this there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Town planner Noreen Piazza will also be present.
“Complete the Green” is an initiative focusing on systematically implementing a part of Lancaster’s Master Plan as it was envisioned in 2007. The Prescott Building, which was formerly the Lancaster High School and Center School, has been sitting vacant and unused for more than a decade.
